Alarmed by Jesus’ resurrection | Easter Sunday Service

`It seems to be true, but it doesn’t seem to be real’. It is good and important that you understand why Christians believe in the resurrection of Jesus. At first sight, it may seem irrational and ridiculous to believe that someone who really died rose from the dead. You may feel that you could never believe such a thing. However, once you dive into the matter more deeply, you may find that there is convincing evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. You may even discover that the burden of proof lies not so much with those who believe in Jesus’ resurrection, but with those who cannot believe that.

Yet, upcoming Easter Sunday, we want to go a step further. As we read Mark 15:40-16:8, we will not only be confronted with evidence of the truth of the resurrection, but also and even more, with a sense of its reality. We will learn more about why that matters so much. You are so welcome to join this Easter service!

Lesson Title: Long Live the King!
Text: Matthew 27:62 – 28:20
Big Idea: Jesus was raised to life after three days, just as he had promised; his disciples followed and worshipped him, but others tried to hide what had happened.
Aim: To teach that the right response to knowing that Jesus has risen is to follow and worship him as God’s promised king and to bring others to know him too.
