God’s continuing care
Take care! That is what parents say to their children, when they say goodbye. They say it, because they love them. Upcoming Sunday, we read a passage where the apostle Paul told the council of the church in Ephesus to take care. God loves the church. To establish the church, God sent his Son and the Son gave his life, his blood for her. The church is precious. We are all called to turn away from our sinful lives to God and to Jesus. Then we are saved and we come under the care of God for his church.
Upcoming Sunday we will see in particular how God cares for his church by the Holy Spirit who gives shepherds, elders and deacons to the church. With thankfulness we will remember the faithful ministry of two council members, which now ends. And with thankfulness we will install, Lord willing, new council members. You are so welcome to join this special church service. We will read Acts 20:17-38.
