DEEP CRISIS

We all know how couples, churches and even countries can get deeply divided and polarised. Both sides have their stories. And often it takes two to tango. The first victim in a conflict is often the truth. Is there a way out? When Moses looked back at the journey of Israel through the desert, the most important story he wants to tell about that time, is the story about Korah’s deceptive rebellion against Moses and Aaron. For later generations he recorded the story, so that they might be equipped to recognise, to respond to and to remind themselves of what caused one of the deepest crises in Israel’s history.

Treasure Seekers

This week at Treasure Seekers, the children see a story of God’s promise but his people’s lack of trust in that promise.

Lesson Title: Spies in the LandText: Numbers 13:1 – 14:45Big Idea: Spies explored the good land God had promised to give Israel, but the people did not trust God to help them fight the Canaanites so he punished them.Teaching Aim: To teach that we can bravely do what God has told us to do when we trust him to keep his promises. The memory verse for the Exodus-to-Joshua series is: “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”(Joshua 21:45)
