A THRILLING THESIS

This Sunday the Advent begins. We look forward to Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. But why celebrate Jesus’ birth and not the birth of a lot of other important people in world history? The records of the life of Jesus, which we call Gospels, make big claims about who Jesus is and what he came for. Upcoming Sunday we start to read John’s Gospel. In the prologue to his Gospel we find a most thrilling thesis about who Jesus is. A thesis for which he will bring forth the evidence when you read further. But let us first look at the thesis. What is John’s claim about who Jesus is? And what does that mean to us? You are so welcome to learn more!
