When impactful Christian living gets twisted

Have you ever felt a gap between your life and what you believe that the life of a Christian should look like? A gap between the church as it is now and as it might have been intended? That is nothing strange! Original Christianity, the message of the Gospel, is not only a life saving faith. It is also a life changing faith. Those who have received it become active, they change, their lives and their fellowships are transformed. Unless… the message is changed. When the original message is swapped for a subtly twisted version, wherein the Gospel is blurred, then gradually the original impact on believers lives will disappear. Upcoming Sunday you can hear more about this, when we continue to read from II Peter 1. We will read chapter 1 until verse 12 and we will pay special attention to verses 5-11.

You are very welcome to join physically!

Treasure Seekers – in person

This week the kids learn how the message about Jesus is for everyone, but not everyone accepts it — in the third part of the Treasure Seekers series “God on Mission”.

During the ICF Delft service, children leave for their own Bible teaching at Treasure Seekers part-way through the service, after the kids song, and rejoin for the final song of the service.  The creche room is also available for 0-2 year olds. For those not attending ICFD in person, we’ll continue to send materials by email.

This week the kids’ Bible passage is Acts 13:13-52.  The Big Idea is that Paul traced the history of Israel to show both Jews and Gentiles that Jesus is the fulfilment of all the promises God had made since Abraham. Here is a video that tells the story. The kids’ song is: As Far as East is from the West (So Great Is Jesus’ Love).

The memory verse is Psalm 67:1-2:

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us, so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” [NIV]
