Strength for God’s discouraged child
What if you prayed but there came no improvement? What if you endured but things got even worse? God’s children find themselves in a war. The war is primarily about our hearts – what we think and feel and believe about God and ourselves. Even though you may be correct in your doctrine, in your heart there may be a voice that continually says that it is all hopeless, all in vain. As we are on our way to celebrate Pentecost, upcoming Sunday we start to read Paul’s second letter to Timothy. Timothy was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. But he faced many discouraging difficulties. The powerful and comforting letter which Timothy received is still a powerful means through which the Holy Spirit can strengthen us today. You are so welcome to join! Upcoming Sunday we read 2 Timothy 1:1-7
TREASURE SEEKERS
Title: Opposition
Text: Acts 5:12-42
Big Idea: The Jewish leaders were jealous of the apostles and hated the good news about Jesus. They tried to stop it spreading but couldn’t because God was doing it.
Aim: To teach that God spreads the good news about Jesus, using obedient people. Those who try to stop it are saying “no” to Jesus as their king.
