God is the Saviour of all people, especially of those who believe’ – says St. Paul in his letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 4:10). Does that mean that we must believe that all people are forever saved? That would contradict many other things that the apostle wrote. The context of the letter shows that Paul means that all people during their earthly lives have some experiences of being saved out of a distress. Beforehand it may have seemed hardly possible or impossible. But then you got out of it. You were saved. Rescued. It even happens to animals. In the past weeks we have seen how Noah and his family and the animals were saved from the great flood. The question we may ask ourselves is: how do you continue after that. Upcoming Sunday we look at how Noah continued – and what we can learn from that.
