What it means to be raised with Christ

Last Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:15: `He died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for him who for their sake died and was raised.’ Hence, the resurrection of Christ was for our sake! It was with the purpose that from now on we might live for Christ. What does that mean? In the letter to the Colossians Paul writes that to know what it means, we must set our minds on things that are above (where Christ is). What then do we find above? James says: wisdom! And if we ask for such wisdom from above, God will give it to us! To apply such wisdom leads to a radical change in the course of our lives. Upcoming Sunday we will learn more about this, as we continue in our series on James. The Bible readings are: Colossians 3:1-11 and James 3:17-5:6.
