“Many of us require proof before we believe something. Fortunately, one of the gospel writers – John – presents several clues that, when taken together, make the resurrection story more credible than you might think. Nevertheless, one of the first disciples, Thomas, does not find the evidence convincing. He needs something else. But what? The story of the appearance of the risen Jesus to the apostle Thomas is all about vulnerability and adds something important to the other Easter stories in the Bible. It is something we all recognize: only what is vulnerable, is real. Only after Jesus showed Thomas his wounds, Thomas was convinced. What do you need to be convinced of the resurrection story? What are your wounds?”
