Behind the curtain

What future does a child, born today, have? It certainly depends on where he or she is born. It also depends on what will happen in the world in the near future. Where can this child be safe? And is it true that it can define its own future?

We are the children of yesterday and we still face an uncertain future. In the passage that we are going to read and explain this Sunday (Daniel 7) we come across something else. We are invited to have a look behind the curtain of history, of all what happens in the world and the power struggles between nations. There is reason for a hopeful future, also for a child that is born today. But what then is behind the curtain and who is entitled to see it?
