THE FRAME OF PENTECOST

Recently we celebrated Pentecost. As we learnt, the coming and outpouring of the Spirit, is a historical fact – like the birth of Christ. We also learnt that the coming of the Spirit has a focus. All the `families of the earth’ – all peoples, tongues and nations must hear the good news about Jesus. Upcoming Sunday we look at the frame of Pentecost. What is the big picture wherein this work of the Spirit of God gets its meaning? We shall see that the Bible provides this big picture, especially when we look at the prophecy of Joel.
