A LOVED AND LOVING FAMILY

Motives matter. As a child your parents may have told you sometimes: don’t ask why, you simply ought to do this. But that is not good. In the Bible we are told to love our neighbour and those of the family of God in particular. But it matters a lot why at all we would put love into practice. It matters a lot out of what kind of heart-condition we love each other. God is not happy if we simply force ourselves to do something simply because it ought to be done. Motives matter, because our heart and the condition of our heart matters. Only if we pay attention to motives it will be possible to do what we do with joy.
