When righteousness has a price

Most of us live in great freedom. We enjoy freedom of speech. Although others may disagree with what we think and say, we are tolerated and we tolerate others. But what if standing for righteousness would have a price. Would we, would I be willing to pay that price? For many across the world, this is not a theoretical question. Easter is approaching!  Treasure Seekers continues to look at Jesus as King through the eyes of Peter, one of Jesus’ closest friends.  We explore Peter’s growing understanding of what it means for Jesus to be a King and a friend. Details of an Easter Sunday event for kids to be announced!

Before then, this Sunday 28 March is the fourth lesson in our series. The Amazing King.  The Bible passage is Matthew 26:30-58, 69-75.  The Big Idea is that, despite his bold commitment to support Jesus even to the point of death, Peter denies even knowing Jesus to avoid persecution.

Here is a video telling the Bible story.

The kids’ song is: Have You Heard About Jesus?

The memory verse for the series is:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Proverbs 3:5 [NIV]
