How hope and joy come back

The times we live in are not encouraging. Another lockdown. Another variant of the virus. Even the Dutch weather may not have felt very encouraging. We all know we need something to hope for. To rejoice in. But what if hope seems so far away? What if we lack joy? Upcoming Sunday we will again turn to the Gospel according to Luke. We will see how Mary receives a message of great hope and joy. Not only is the content of that message offering hope for us too. We can also learn from Mary how to receive good news in such a way that it transforms us. You are very welcome to join physically, or – if that is not possible for you – online upcoming Sunday.

TREASURE SEEKERS

The children wrap up their study of Joseph — and of Genesis — this Sunday as they learn that God uses everything that happens in this world, including the sinful things that people do, to make his plans work.

During the ICF Delft service, children leave for their own Bible teaching at Treasure Seekers part-way through the service, after the kids’ song, and rejoin for the final song of the service.  The creche room is also available for 0-2 year olds. For those not attending ICFD in person, we’ll continue to send materials by email.
This Sunday the kids’ Bible passage is Genesis 45:1 – 47:12.  The Big Idea is that, as Joseph makes himself known to his brothers, God’s plan to use him to save many lives and fix the broken relationships in his own family is complete. Here is a video telling the story.
