This world needs peacemakers more than ever. However, sustainable peace also requires justice. This Sunday, we will explore two Bible passages that address this crucial matter. The first passage is from the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘peace through justice.’ (Isaiah 32,17: ‘the fruit of righteousness will be peace’) The second text is from James. He flips it around: ‘justice through peace.’ (James 3,18: ‘Peacemakers who sow in peace will reap a harvest of righteousness.’) This reversal holds significance. How do they relate to each other?
