All movies and series – shorter or longer – have an end. What about this world? Is the end coming near? What will the end be like? When will it be there? Questions we all may wonder about sometimes. These questions are not new. In the last section of Jesus’ teachings in Matthew’s Gospel, starting at chapter 24, the disciples asked Jesus about such questions. The way Jesus teaches about the end in the last passage of chapter 25 is most surprising. He tells that when the end has come, we will look back at the current time with great surprise and amazement. Though we may have questions about the future and about tomorrow, Jesus shows us that today, the present, is more important than we might ever have imagined.
