Some weeks ago we celebrated Easter. The Gospels provide us with much evidence for the truth of the resurrection. However, it is possible to believe that it is true that He is risen, whereas it doesn’t seem to be very real to us. Yet, only if it becomes real for us, it will force us to repent and rethink and reshape our lives. Upcoming Sunday we will read Luke 24:36-43 where disciples, now believing that it is true, are confronted with the reality of the risen Lord. He Himself standing in their midst confuses, shocks and troubles them. We too need this. Not only the conviction of the truth, but also the awareness of the reality of His resurrection.
